PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that, when aluminum or its alloy is made to join directly to dissimilar metals such as ferrous material like carbon steel and stainless steel or the like, titanium and a titanium alloy, and cooper and a copper alloy by the method of welding or the like, a brittle intermetallic compound is formed in a joined part and, as a result, a reliable joint can not obtained. SOLUTION: When aluminum or its alloy is made to join directly to dissimilar metals such as ferrous material like carbon steel and stainless steel or the like, titanium and a titanium alloy, and cooper and a copper alloy, aluminum alloy containing Si as an essential element is put between joined materials as an insert material to join them by the method of welding or the like.
