Container made from silica-coated entropy-elastic film, useful especially as blood transfusion bag, has increased water vapor permeability after stretching

Container (A), made from an entropy-elastic film (F) that has, on at least one side, a 10-200 nm thick ceramic layer of SiOx (x = 0.9-2.2). Before stretching, (F) has water vapor permeability (WVP; after DIN 53122 T2) not over 0.05 g/m2-day, but after stretching by more than 4%, WVP is at least 0.2 g/m2-day. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) method for preparing (A); and (2) similar container (A') in which one part of the film has WVP at least 0.2 g/m2-day and another part has WVP not over 0.05 g/m2-day.
