The light source (2) illuminates the photo-sensitive electrode (3) locally. A rotating perforated plate or a curved optical fiber (42) is used for local illumination of the electrode (3). Lenses are included, to focus the light. A measurement unit detects electrical signals produced by one or more analytes.
