<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery provided with a positive electrode, negative electrode, and nonaqueous electrolyte, having a high energy density and excellent charge-discharge cycle characteristics. <P>SOLUTION: The negative electrode is formed of a thin film formed on a collector, and the thin film is, for example, a silicon thin film, which stores lithium by alloying with the lithium.
