<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electro-optical device which has retention capacitance, is capable of displaying a picture of high quality such as high contrast and, at the same time, has a feature such as ease in manufacture and structural simplicity. <P>SOLUTION: Scanning lines 312 etc. are formed on a counter substrate 300, and data lines 212, TFDs 220 and pixel electrodes 234 etc. are formed on an element substrate 200. Further, an insulation layer 910 and capacitance lines 900 are formed beneath the pixel electrodes 234, and a lamination structure is formed by the insulation layer and the capacitance lines thereby, forming a retention capacitance 290 for each pixel. The capacitance line is electrically connected with the scanning line via conductive particles 114 incorporated into a sealing material 110. As far as the capacitance lines and scanning lines existing in the same row are concerned, they are at the same voltage at all times. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
