PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic EL element having sufficient luminance, superior in stability and durability, formable into the large area, and easy in manufacture. SOLUTION: This electroluminescent element is sandwiched between a pair of electrodes composed of an anode and a cathode having at least one being transparent or translucent, and is composed of one or a plurality of organic compound layers. The organic electroluminescent element is characterized in that at least one layer of the organic compound layers includes one kind or more of electric charge transporting polyester composed of a repeating unit including at least one kind selected from a structure indicated by the following general equation (1-1) and (1-2) as a partial structure.
