PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator device for preventing slipping-out of a car and a counterweight from a guide rail in an earthquake even in an upper part of a building. SOLUTION: The guide rail 8 is composed of an upper guide rail 9 and a lower guide rail 10. The upper guide rail 9 is formed of a material having a yield point higher than the lower guide rail 10. A cross-sectional shape of this upper guide rail 9 is formed in the same one as a cross-sectional shape of the lower guide rail 10. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
