METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING INTRAOCULAR LENS AND INTRAOCULAR LENS MANUFACTURED BY THE METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an intraocular lens for satisfactorily keeping the state of a base material while suppressing the occurrence of a void in the base material, and the intraocular lens manufactured by this method.

SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the intraocular lens includes: a first step of obtaining an intraocular lens base material by polymerizing a polymeric monomer which is the raw material of the base material; a second step of obtaining a monomer-impregnated base material by impregnating the base material obtained in the first step with a polymeric monomer; a third step of setting a protective member on the surface of the monomer-impregnated base material to prevent the surface of the base material from drying with respect to the monomer-impregnated base material obtained by the second step; and a fourth step of polymerizing the second polymeric monomer impregnated in a state where the protective member is abutted on the surface of the monomer-impregnated base material at the third step.
