<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal transfer sheet which can sufficiently be adapted to a printer increase in speed, is stable in printing/non-printing in a low friction coefficient to prevent printing wrinkles and in which the problem of scum produced during printing for a long time is solved. <P>SOLUTION: The thermal transfer sheet comprises a base sheet, a thermal transfer layer formed on one face of the base sheet and a back face layer formed on the face opposite to the thermal transfer layer of the base sheet.
