<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain satisfactory image strength and resolving power without requiring a heat processing, for details, to form animage excellent in plate wear and resolusion without carrying out the heat processing after exposure, and to carry out an image forming processing stably for a long period of time while hardly reducing developability with the lapse of time due to properties of a developing solution and remarkably reducing scum accumulated in a developing bath during a development in an image forming method from a negative image forming material which records using an infrared laser. <P>SOLUTION: In the image forming method, the negative image forming material obtained by disposing an image recording layer comprising (A) a radical generator, (B) a radical polymerizable compound, (C) an IR absorbent and (D) a binder polymer on a support is imagewise exposed with an infrared laser and developed with an alkaline developing solution containing at least one alkali metal salt of nonreducing sugar. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
