METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PRIORITIZING MENU ITEMS OF ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user to customize electronic equipment to be suited to his/her own needs and liking.

SOLUTION: The method of dynamically applying priority to menu items programmed in electronic equipment such as a digital camera includes the steps of: selecting a menu item out of an ordered list of menu items; recording the selected menu item in a record file stored in the electronic equipment; analyzing the record file to determine and analyze the frequency of use for each menu item; and dynamically prioritizing the ordered list by using firmware integrated in the electronic equipment on the basis of the user's frequency of use to rank higher the frequently used menu item on the prioritized list.
