<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a TFT (thin film transistor) array increased in pixel aperture ratio (open area ratio) and reduced in crosstalk originating in capacitance and to provide an active matrix liquid crystal display with the TFT array and a method for manufacturing the same. <P>SOLUTION: In the liquid crystal display, a photo image formation type insulating layer 33 having a plurality of contact biases or openings is disposed between address lines 5, 7 and a pixel electrode 3 and overlapping is enabled between the two. By the insulating layer 33, crosstalk originating in capacitance is reduced and pixel aperture ratio is increased. In one desirable embodiment, the dielectric constant of the insulating layer is less than about 3.0 in order to reduce crosstalk. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
