PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery capable of reducing firing when overcharged by an excessive voltage for a long time. SOLUTION: In this nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery equipped with an electrode group wherein a lamination containing a positive electrode, a negative electrode and a separator is wound so as to form a spiral shape or a flat shape, and a nonaqueous electrolyte held by the electrode group, the end part on the winding direction side of the separator protrudes further than the end part on the winding direction side of the positive electrode and the negative electrode in the electrode group, and the separator satisfies the following formulas (1) - (3). (1) 0≤X<SB>1</SB>≤(Y<SB>1</SB>/ 1.5)≤10, (2) X<SB>2</SB>≤10, (3) X<SB>2</SB>≤Y<SB>2</SB>≤20. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
