PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an access method to heterogeneous databases capable of managing without changing the existing program to a large extent when a transition is made from the business system etc. using ISAM (Indexed Sequential Access Method) database to an RDB (relational database). SOLUTION: When the first system using an ISAM database is to be connected with the second system using RDB, the result of SQL (structured query language) inquiry to the RDB is stored in the ISAM database of the first system (S13), and if there is any update for the ISAM database, an update the same as for the ISAM database is made even to the RDB (S16).
