PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a plurality of magnetoresistive effect elements provided with a pinned layer having fixed magnetization axes mutually intersecting, on a single chip. SOLUTION: A magnetic layer to be two magnetic tunnel effect elements 11, 21 as the magnetoresistive effect elements is formed on a substrate 10. Magnetic layers for applying magnetic field and comprising NiCo are formed to interpose the magnet layer between them in a two-dimensional view. After magnetic field is applied to the magnetic layer for applying magnetic field and the magnetic layers for applying magnetic field are magnetized in a direction indicated by arrow A, the magnetic field is removed. As the result, a magnetic field is applied to the magnetic layer to be the magnetic tunnel effect elements 11, 21 by residual magnetization of the magnetic layers for applying magnetic field in a direction indicated by arrow B. Magnetization of the pinned layer of the magnetic layer to be the magnetic tunnel effect elements 11, 21 is pinned in the direction indicated by the arrow B. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
