PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that ink ejection under unsettled state of ink level may be required when high resolution or high speed printing is tried, but high quality printing is difficult when the quantity of ejecting ink is varied. SOLUTION: A printer is arranged to form an image by ejecting ink drops from a plurality of nozzles. When the printer ejects ink again under unsettled state of ink level in the nozzle, the head is subjected to driving control such that ink drops are ejected while compensating for a variation in the quantity of ink from a predetermined reference ink ejection quantity caused by unsettled ink level.
