PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chair capable of preventing the slipping of a hand touching an armrest when a user stands up or sits on the chair. SOLUTION: The chair comprises a base body 1, a seat body 4 whose front end is rotatably connected to the base body, a gas spring 11 one end of which is connected to the base body with the other end connected to the rear end of the seat body to be extended as operated for rotating the seat body with the front end as the fulcrum in the direction of raising the rear end, an armrest body 10 attached to the end of the seat body in the cross direction along the seat body in the front/rear directions with a hand-rest part formed at the front end, and a control part 28c of a control lever attached on the lower surface of the front end of the armrest body for operating the gas spring by the operation.
