<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable terminal device allowing confirmation of an input candidate character by a synthesized voice, in the portable terminal device allowing character input. <P>SOLUTION: This portable terminal device has a voice synthesis means synthesizing pronunciation of the input candidate character into the voice and outputting the voice when displaying the input candidate character.
