PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus in which toner on a secondary transfer roller is excellently removed even when a toner image on an intermediate transfer body other than a toner image transferred to transfer paper is transferred to the secondary transfer roller by using spherical polymerized toner so as to improve image quality. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus of a tandem type indirect transfer system equipped with four sets of photoreceptor drums 40 and an intermediate transfer body 10 and using the polymerized toner as toner for forming a toner image is provided with a cleaning blade 221 abutting on the surface of the secondary transfer roller 22a and a lubricant applying member 222 supplying a lubricant to the surface of the roller 22a.
