PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new composition for decomposing dioxins exhibiting high capacity of decomposing dioxins in a short period of time, and to provide a method for decomposing persistent organic materials such as dioxins at a low cost and with reduced generation of secondary waste. SOLUTION: The composition for decomposing persistent organic materials such as dioxins contains a product of a cultured matter obtained by culturing white-rot fungus in a culture medium and removing the microorganisms. In the method for decomposing persistent organic materials such as dioxins, the composition is actuated on a matter contaminated by persistent organic materials such as dioxins. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
