PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To exactly measure Stokes parameters without causing polarization fluctuation and a PDL (polarization dependent loss), when branching an incident light. SOLUTION: The incident light L1 is branched into first branched lights L2a and L2b, when it is made incident on a prism P1. Then, the first branched light L2a and L2b is introduced into prisms P2 and P3, respectively. the first brached light L2a and L2b are branched by the prisms P2 and P3 into the second branched lights L3a, L3b, L3c and L3d, respectively.
