PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a socket for a semiconductor device capable of avoiding the mutual contact of movable contact portions of adjacent contact terminals, while keeping the opening amount of the movable contact portions of the contact terminals to the utmost. SOLUTION: Insulation members 42A, 42B are formed at the top end part of the movable contacts, so as to prevent the movable contact portion 36A1 of the contact terminal 36ai from directly contacting with a movable contact portion 36A2 of adjacent contact terminal 36ai.
