PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly safe heat-treating apparatus scarcely causing induced breakage by entanglement of a flat material with other flat materials when breaking the flat material in heat-treating the flat material running in a heat-treating chamber and having high productivity. SOLUTION: The heat-treating apparatus 2 is composed so as to heat-treat the flat material 4 horizontally running in the heat-treating chamber 6, folded back with folding back rollers 8 installed on both sides of the heat-treating chamber 6, repetitively fed to the heat-treating chamber 6 and running while forming paths in a plurality of stages. A plurality of rods 10 are arranged so that the longitudinal direction thereof is kept in the horizontal direction and the direction at right angles from the running direction of the flat material 4 in gaps between the paths. Furthermore, the plurality of rods 10 are arranged at 100-500 mm interval in the running direction of the flat material 4. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
