LIQUID CARBOXYLIC ACID GROUP-CONTAINING POLYESTER OLIGOMER, WATER-BASED POLYURETHANE RESIN AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a water-based polyurethane resin and provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: A carboxylic group-containing polyester polyol having 550-950 number average molecular weight and being liquid at normal temperatures is prepared by ring-opening polymerization ofε-caprolactone to a compound expressed by formula (1):HOCH2C(COOH)RCH2OH (wherein R expresses a≥2C alkyl). The polyester polyol gives a water-based polyurethane resin excellent in its working condition and drying properties for applying the same, homogeneity and stability and useful for various applications such as a paint, a binder for printing inks, an adhesive and the like. The water-based polyurethane resin excellent in the working condition and the drying properties is easily produced by the method. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
