PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop a new organic fluorescent material and a new doping material which have reduced crystallinity and sublimability and improved solubility in a solvent and to obtain the organic fluorescent material in which film formation of a light emitting layer, etc., is carried out by a wet method not by a dry method. SOLUTION: The carbazole-based compound is represented by general formula (1) (R<SB>1</SB>is an aromatic or aliphatic connecting group; R<SB>2</SB>is an alkyl group, an alkenyl group, an alkyl ether group, an alkoxy group, an amino group, an aryl group or an aryloxy group; a plurality of R<SB>1</SB>s and R<SB>2</SB>s may be the same or different, respectively).
