PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that when software is used to achieve automatic switching of hoppers when the printing paper sheet has run out, the priority of the hoppers to be switched must be fixed, precluding the user from changing the priority or inhibiting automatic switching to a specific hopper. SOLUTION: An automatic hopper switching function, a function for inputting from a control panel a priority corresponding to each hopper, and a switching priority information table for storing the input priority are prepared. When the printing paper sheet has run out as printing progresses, the switching priority information table is consulted to determine the next hopper to be used, so as to achieve automatic switching of the plurality of designated hoppers using the priority.
