A well plate supply and storage apparatus capable of facilitating a covered well plate mounting workability and assuring the reliability of well plates when the well plates are supplied to a treatment stage or stored from the treatment stage, comprising a supply tower (3) storing the detachable covered well plates (1) for each set so as to be disposed in multiple stages and successively supplying the well plates (1), a storage tower (4) storing, in covered state, the well plates (1) treated in the treatment stage (ST) so as to be disposed in multiple stages, a plate carrying means (5) carrying the well plates (1) between the supply tower (3), treatment stage (ST), and storage tower (4), and a cover mounting/dismounting mechanism (6) installed in well plate (1) carrying route ranging from the supply tower (3) to the treatment stage (ST), temporarily dismounting the covers (2) of the well plates (1) to be supplied to the treatment stage (ST), and mounting the covers (2) onto the well plates (1) treated in the treatment stage (ST).
