The shoe (14) can be of any suitable design and is fitted with a sole (10) comprising a slightly recessed elevated border (16). A band (36) accommodated in the recess (46) is joined to the shoe (14) using a specific stitch. The thread is repeatedly guided from the inner shoe through pre-shaped holes (32) in the shaft (12) and in the border (16, 34), diagonally across the front of the band (36), through the upper edge (48) of the border (16), and back to the inner surface of the shoe (14), forming a pleat-like pattern.
