The connector assembly (3,13) for furniture sections (1,2) fits into cut outs (8-11) and has teeth at each end for gripping in the cut outs. The toothed sections can be expanded by a dowel (5) and expander (6). The connector has an expandable lower section for retention and the expander has a head (6a) and a wedge (6b) which has grooves on each side engaged by guide rails (5f) in the dowel (5).
