<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate manufacture, to achieve reliability and satisfactory productivity, and to stably, accurately measure the oxygen concentration in a low-concentration region. <P>SOLUTION: In a limiting current oxygen sensor, a cathode layer and an anode layer are provided while sandwiching a solid electrolyte layer and a plane, porous diffusion layer for gas diffusion speed control is provided on one surface of the cathode layer. Then, in the limiting current oxygen sensor, the cathode layer has a lead takeout section for electrical connection, one portion of the lead takeout section of the cathode layer is brought into contact with the solid electrolyte layer, and other portions of the lead takeout section are exposed to the atmosphere. Additionally, a portion near the boundary between the portion, that is in contact with the solid electrolyte layer at the lead takeout section of the cathode layer and a portion that is exposed in the atmosphere, is covered with a gas-impermeable film. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
