PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance debugging efficiency when an anomaly is found in firmware downloading.
SOLUTION: After new firmware is written into an FROM 12, a jump to the head of a start-up program automatically takes place within a firmware rewriting device 1 to restart the device. At the next start-up, autonomic restart is performed by means of new firmware in such a way that the start-up is performed by means of firmware stored in the rewriting device 1 prior to the restart. When new firmware is written into the FROM 12, a sum check is performed. If any anomaly is found, the firmware is not replaced and the root cause of failure in download is written into a prescribed area of an SDRAM 13. Further, when any anomaly is found in downloading, the root cause of the download anomaly can be comprehended by dumping the prescribed area of the SDRAM 13 via a debug terminal 3.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
