<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a circuit for driving a matrix display panel with a photoluminescence quenching device(PQD) and a matrix display device using the circuit. <P>SOLUTION: The matrix display panel having PQD is constituted so that it includes an activation transistor 411 and a driving transistor 421 by every pixel unit, the former is turned on by potential of a scanning line, outputs potential of a data line, the latter is connected between a reference voltage terminal 430 and the PQD 400 and impresses potential of the reference voltage terminal to an anode of the PQD based on the potential of the data line when the activation transistor is turned on. In an emissive mode, the driving transistor of the PQD to be emitted is turned on, forward voltage is applied between the anode and a cathode of the PQD and in addition, in a re-emissive mode, the driving transistor of the PQD is turned off and the matrix display device is driven so that no voltage is applied between the anode and the cathode of the PQD. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
