<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact and light-weight gene-diagnostic system and a gene-diagnostic method at a low cost, which can detect gene abnormality of one or more bases rapidly, easily and accurately, and can automate the diagnosis at a very low running cost. <P>SOLUTION: The gene diagnostic system includes a sealed channel, wherein buffer solution contains DNA samples and a DNA bonding substance for separation that is made up of a polymer compound in bonding with a base sequence being hydrogen-bondable to the DNA samples and separates the DNA samples into normal DNAs and abnormal DNAs, based on the difference of their bonding forces. The gene-diagnostic system also includes a selective separating filter, disposed on the side of at least in the electromigration direction in the sealed channel and allowing the DNA samples to pass through it and preventing the DNA bonded substance for separation from passing it. The DNA samples in the sealed channel is subjected to electrophoresis by applying a voltage thereon, and a detecting section measures the amounts of the normal DNAs and/or the abnormal DNAs passing through it. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
