<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a handrail enabling the aged or the handicapped with a week grip strength to go up and down stairs or an inclined surface safely and easily. <P>SOLUTION: Vertical handrails 1 with predetermined dimensions in almost vertical direction are attached on a wall surface W along the stairs or an inclined path at predetermined intervals in inclined direction of the stairs or the like. Transverse handrails 2 are attached on these vertical handrails 1 in slanting direction across them.
