PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for discriminating cancer cells from normal cells. SOLUTION: This method for determining a cell lineage and a point mutation of the cancer from the point mutation of the cells is provided by obtaining the point mutation of cells and then a common part between 2 point mutations to decide a mother cell of both, repeating one by one with cells and mother cells to decide the genealogy of the cells. By applying the method for cancer cells, the point mutation of a cancer tissue and the point mutation of the normal cells close to the cancer and deducting the latter from former. This is a total of the point mutations generated in an initial generation of the cancer and that generated in the one previous generation, or simply the point generation generated in the initial generation of the cancer. The point mutation is used for discriminating the cancer cell from the normal cell. Further, based on the point mutation, an attacking method for the cancer is developed. By expressing the gene containing the point mutation in the normal cells close to the cancer, whether the gene is cancer gene or not, is judged. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
