METHOD AND APPARATUS OF IMPROVING ADAPTIVE COLORATION IN COLORED IMAGE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus of improving adaptive coloration in colored images. SOLUTION: A color saturation component extraction portion extracts color saturation components from an input image. A color saturation function determination variable calculator 301 determines a color saturation improvement function as a function of improving color saturation of the input image based on a predetermined reference value. A color saturation improvement portion 302 changes the extracted color saturation components by using the color saturation improvement function. A color saturation component synthesizing portion combines the changed color saturation components and remaining components of the input image and generates an output image. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
