PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode with improved start-up characteristics, a cold-cathode discharge tube and a manufacturing method of the electrode. SOLUTION: A dimple-like emitter housing 4 is formed at a part of the outside of a hollow electrode 1 fitted to a tip of a lead-in metal body 2, and then, an emitter is filled into the emitter housing 4 formed.
