PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color cathode-ray tube mitigating the precision of a beam passing hole edge of a color selection mechanism and having a black matrix type color fluorescent screen with higher precision, and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: A resist film pattern 26B independent of the pattern of a beam passing hole 27 of a color selection mechanism is formed on the color selection mechanism, and the resist pattern 26B is used for a mask for exposure to form a fluorescent screen 44. After forming the fluorescent screen, the resist patterns 26A, 26B are removed to form a color selection mechanism. The color selection mechanism is disposed to face the color fluorescent screen formed as above to constitute a color cathode-ray tube. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
