PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a producing cost of a forming die with which even in the case of being the forming die 4 having a forming surface of undercut shape, a cast product is separated from the forming die 4 by reducing the outer peripheral diameter of a protruded die 3 and simplifying finish-working after casting. SOLUTION: In the method for producing the forming die for forming the forming die 4 with the casting by using one pair of a recessed die 2 and the protruded die 3, the outer peripheral diameter of the protruded die 3 is made to be freely shrunk, and after shrinking the outer peripheral diameter of the protruded die 3, the forming die 4 is taken out.
