<p>The present invention concerns an apparatus for making ice flakes, where the apparatus includes at least one cylindric drum having an inner wall and an outer wall where the drum between inner wall and outer wall includes means for cooling the inner and outer walls of the drum, where the drum forms part as at least one cooling surface in a cooling system, where the apparatus includes means for removing ice on both inner and outer sides of the drum, where a relative movement occurs between the drum and the means for removing ice. It is the purpose of the invention to provide a machine where the means for removing ice are adapting to the shape of the drum for allowing substantial variations of the dimensions of the drum. This may be achieved if the apparatus includes at least one internal and at least one external means for ice removal, where the means for ice removal are suspended with freedom of movement in radial direction relative to the drum. Hereby may be achieved that the means of ice removal adapt to the actual shape of the drum whereby tolerance requirements for the drum are reduced. Thereby, a drum may be produced without final turning of the inner and outer sides of the drum. A turning may imply reduction of material thickness, which may be disadvantageous if coolant under high pressure is to be used for cooling the drum. Also the requirements for centring the drum in relation to ice removing means are reduced.</p> |
