<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively supply power stored in a secondary battery to a backup power line by significantly reducing wasteful diode power consumption, and to set the voltage of the backup power line for supplying power to the backup power line from the secondary battery to an optimum voltage. <P>SOLUTION: This power backup device comprises the secondary battery 1 for backup, a power circuit 2 for charging the secondary battery 1, a switching device 4 connected between the secondary battery 1 and the backup power line 3, and a control circuit 5. The power circuit 5 controls the switching device 4 so as to turn it on if the voltage of the backup power line 3 is lower than a preset voltage by comparing the voltage of the backup power line 3 with the preset voltage, thus supplying power from the secondary battery 1 to the backup power line 3 with the switching device 4. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
