PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an object tracking device that does not erroneously interpret the correlation between objects and an object area when a plurality of the objects exist in an image area even if the plurality of objects in an overlapped state are separated and even when a combination of the objects overlapped on the image is changed before and after the separation.

SOLUTION: An object area extract section 12 receives image information through an image input terminal 11 and extracts the object area from the received image information. A feature quantity generating section 14 generates the feature quantity of the objects and the feature quantity of the object area. A feature quantity synthesis section 15 composes the feature quantities of the plurality of objects to produce a synthesized feature quantity. A correlation section 17 calculates the similarity between the feature quantity of the object area and the synthesized feature quantity to correlate the optimum object with the object area on the basis of the calculated similarity.
