<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a deodorant for a high pressure steam treatment to eliminate malodor which is generated in a high pressure steam sterilizing treatment to be performed for preventing an infection from an examination sample in a microbe inspection, waste generated during the time when the inspection is completed, and dirty objects generated in a hospital, and the like, and also to provide a deodorizing method and a deodorant bag. <P>SOLUTION: The deodorant contains calcium carbonate, an amine carboxylic acid compound or its salt as active components in a non-mixture state. The high pressure steam sterilizing treatment for deodorization is performed under the existence of the non-mixture state of calcium carbonate, the amine carboxylic acid compound or its salt. The deodorant bag 10 consists of a water-insoluble and heat-resistant material, and includes two mutually separated chambers 1, 2. One chamber is filled with calcium carbonate, and has a ventilation part.
