摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a Mg<SB>2</SB>Ni alloy of which the rate of hydrogen absorption in room temperature is improved and in which hydrogen desorption is possible at < 280 &deg;C, and its producing method. <P>SOLUTION: A particle of the Mg<SB>2</SB>Ni alloy has Mg(OH)<SB>2</SB>formed on a surface of a particle of a core material of the Mg<SB>2</SB>Ni alloy. The particle of the Mg<SB>2</SB>Ni alloy is produced by reacting the particle of the core material of the Mg<SB>2</SB>Ni alloy with water to form Mg(OH)<SB>2</SB>on the surface of the particle of the core material.
