<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink for ink-jet recording scarcely causing bleeding of an image under high-humidity conditions and to provide a method for ink-jet recording using the ink. <P>SOLUTION: The ink for ink-jet recording is characterized as follows. A compound, etc., which are a dye having a λmax of 390-470 nm in an absorption spectrum in an aqueous solution and represented by A-N=N-B (wherein, A and B denote each independently a heterocyclic group which may be substituted) are dissolved and/or dispersed in an aqueous medium containing a water-miscible organic solvent. The content of the dye in the water-miscible organic solvent providing ≥10 (g/100 g solvent) solubility thereof at 25°C in the ink is ≤10 mass%.
