<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording and an erasing method capable of obtaining a fully decolorized state in a short period of time at a problem-free level in image quality when the recorded information on a reversible heat-sensitive recording media is erased from a color-developed, recorded state of the media. <P>SOLUTION: The recording and erasing method is provided with a recording layer containing an electron-donative coloring compound and an electron-acceptive compound formed on a support body. A color-developed record formed in the reversible heat sensitive recording media is erased, which relatively forms a colored state and decolorized state according to a difference between a heating temperature and/or a cooling rate after heating.
