<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet feeder in which closure of first and second covers can be detected by one detecting means, and to provide an image forming apparatus comprising it. <P>SOLUTION: The sheet feeder body for internally containing sheets is provided with first and second covers 51 and 53 wherein the first cover 51 is closed following to closure of the second cover 53. A means 62 for detecting closure of the first cover 51 is provided and arranged such that closure of the first cover 51 is not detected when it is closed while opening the second cover 53 but detected when the first cover 51 is closed while closing the second cover 53. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
