PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cartridge in which a label stuck on a label area is easily stripped off, while maintaining the positioning function of the label to the label area. SOLUTION: In a recording tape cartridge 10, a label area 60 which is surrounded by a standing wall 62 having a rectangular shape in back view is provided by recessing the surface of the rear wall 12C of case 12 inside of which a magnetic tape is housed and it is made an area for use of the sticking of a label 66. A notched part 64 is provided on the housing 12 by notching the center part of an upper standing wall 62 in the longitudinal direction constituting the standing wall 62 and the cartridge is made so that the label 66 stuck on the label area 60 can be easily stripped off from the notched part 40. Moreover, since the notched part 64 is provided by notching part of the upper standing wall 62A in the longitudinal direction, the positioning property of the label 66 to the label area 60 is not deteriorated.
