PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thin film magnetic head capable of reducing inductance without difficulty in manufacturing and without deteriorating characteristics. SOLUTION: This magnetic head is provided with a pair of yoke layers ends of which form opposing magnetic poles through an insulating gap and other ends of which are magnetically coupled to each other, a coil conductor wound on at least one of the pair of yoke layers, first and second trace conductors ends of which are connected to both ends of the coil conductor, and first and second connection bumps to which the other ends of the first and second trace conductors are connected. The first trace conductor includes upper and lower conductor layers to which the second trace conductor is connected in parallel, the upper conductor layer of the first trace conductor and the lower conductor layer of the second trace conductor are arranged oppositely to each other up and down, and the upper conductor layer of the second trace conductor and the lower conductor layer of the first trace conductor are arranged oppositely to each other up and down.
