PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a system of program control for efficiently executing online processing and batch processing at the same time. SOLUTION: In this method of program control, processing is sorted out into online processing services or batch processing services on a server according to a request from a client system connected to a network. A threshold on the number of requests for online processing services is defined, the threshold is compared with the number of requests for online processing services, and when the threshold is exceeded by the number of requests for online processing services, the batch processing services are temporarily stopped. When the number of requests for online processing services falls below the threshold, an instruction to restart the batch processing is issued. Further, two kinds of services, online processing and batch processing, are processed by one program, and a service to be executed is switched according to the number of requests.
